Invited Talk at DAIS - FMOODS 2003 - 20 November 2003
by Andrew herbert
The scope is an historical review of the evolution of
"distributed objects" from early "single shot" protocols to today's complex
reflective and introspective middleware systems. I will make some predictions for how distributed objects will evolve with the growth of
wide area distributed applications built using the "web services" concept and how this relates to ideas such as "Grid Computing" and
"Computing on Demand".
